The Music Box is broadcast on Thursdays between 2pm and 4pm every 4 weeks.

Hi, my name is Sylvia Hills.  I’ve been a volunteer here at Preston FM since 2005 and I present The Music Box.

If you’re passionate about music from the 70′s to present day then join me every four weeks.   What type of music will you hear?  Well it could be soul, maybe motown, acoustic guitar, jazz, 70′s classics or even rock!  It is a music box after all – you never know what you might hear!  BIG NEWS!!!!! The Music Box has moved to a new day - Thursdays - every 4 weeks between 2pm and 4pm.  The next Music Box programme will be broadcast on Thursday 27th June at 2.00pm.  See you then!

A little about me …. my enthusiasm for radio led me to study television and radio full time at Salford University 1992 – 1994.  Since then I’ve been involved in broadcasts for Bury Sound, Tower FM (Bury and Bolton), The Burn (Blackburn), Burnley FM and Preston FM.  From 2003 to 2006 I ran a Community Learning Project for Radio Regen, devising and delivering radio training for two community radio stations in the Manchester area.  I now work as a part time facilitator for Lancashire Adult Learning devising and delivering training for community learning projects.
